Our honeymoon in Pismo Beach, CA
Our honeymoon was awesome and came in perfect timing. Our fall semester was insanely busy and we were anxious to get the crap away from freezing cold weather & the snow. We stayed at a really cool little resort called The Cliffs. Our room had a little balcony that looked over the Pacific Ocean and no one was there due to our impecable timing of getting married the day AFTER New Year's! We ate at lots of cool hole-in-the-wall places and caught up on much needed sleep. We went to a butterfly sanctuary, the Monterey Bay Aquarium , downtown San Luis Obispo for Woodstock Pizza, tide pools, and the most memorable experience of hiking around on rocky cliffs with the ocean crashing and dropping one of my wedding bands in the ocean. Really super awesome. You would have thought someone died as people watched me sob on the rocks while my knight in shining armor debated jumping in. Luckily, it wasn't my main diamond band, but very sad nonetheless. We got home just in time to start school the next day and jump right back into our crazy lives. Bill's sister Holly had been living with Bill and we got really close. She and I switched living arrangements, she moved down to Provo into my condo and I moved to Salt Lake. I transferred jobs, schools and homes all at once and yet it was all worth it:)
*how bout we get married*
So over the next couple months we hung out everyday & every night. When we were weren't together, we were texting all day. I lived in Provo and he lived in West Jordan, so the commute was super awesome, which explains our deciding to make it official and get married ASAP. So after my finals, his finals, waterpolo, and dying my hair brown (no bueno-hopefully I can stay blonde forever) we got engaged and were married January 2, 2009 in the Oakland, CA temple.
Chelsea Mi Hermana's Wedding!
Chelsea and Jordan's wedding was amazing. She was the most beautiful bride ever. Hands down. They were married in the Bountiful, UT temple and their reception was at Deer Valley in Park City in September. They had super-gourmet food and dancing. I swear it was everything Chelsea swore she would have since she was a little girl. Despite me wanting to strangle the photographer for sitting down and chilling with the guests with a heaping plate of food, the pictures turned out amazing too. Bill came late due to another waterpolo tournament, but showed up just in time for a dance or two. Perfect weather, perfect time of year and it was beautiful. PS- I so did her hair. holla.
hanging out at grams...
Steph flew out for like2 months last summer to, I like to think, hang out with me. Also, to cover the annual cabin trip and Chelsea's wedding. The point is, she is the reason I have at least 87.5% of any pictures I post, including this bare midriff treasure of Bill & me, is because she is the bomb at taking pictures. This was actually a few weeks before the UC Davis tournament, but I found it a little too late and I'm still blog-illiterate. I swear Bill is HAPPY and SOBER in this pic despite his appearance by the way:)
~A little Northern CA trip does you good~
By the second week of September, we started getting all serious and Bill was coaching waterpolo for the University of Utah and they had a tournament at UC Davis. He invited me and we flew out together and stayed at his parent's house in Concord-they were awesome. Alot like my family, very laidback ( actually more laidback if you can believe it) and welcoming. It was so much fun, lots of games, good food and family. I met Bill's extended family at the tournament and clicked right away. It only made me love him more. We had to get home fast because my little Chelsea Renee Tall was getting hitched just a few days later!
Time to make up for lost time...
So, blogging had me sold when I realized it could double as a new-age-only-if-you're-cool way of keeping a journal, so here I am making up for this last year. The most amazing year I have ever had I think.I'm starting with the brightest spot, last July when I met my hubby, Bill. We were set up by his aunt and my family friend, April Carter. We were both really nervous, but by the end of our first date where I beat him at tennis and a watched him coach a little waterpolo, he hugged me and told me to remind him to send his Auntie April some flowers! I was sold and totally smitten. These pictures are from the first week of August last summer, we went up to Idaho for a weekend with my family at the cabin. The best part about meeting Bill was that we became friends instantly, laughing and talking a lot, which is why we fell in love so easily. Not to mention, he's totally hot!
